The story of the film revolves around the life of Pushkar Nath Pandit (Anupam Kher), a teacher from Kashmir. Krishna (Darshan Kumar) comes to Kashmir from Delhi, to fulfill the last wish of his grandfather Pushkar Nath Pandit. Krishna stays with his grandfather's best friend, Brahma Dutt (Mithun Chakraborty). During that time other friends of Pushkar also come to meet Krishna. After this the film goes into flashback.
It is shown in flashback how Kashmir was before 1990. This is followed by the painful story of Kashmiri Pandits being threatened and forced to leave Kashmir and their home in the 90s. Krishna does not know what difficult times his family must have gone through during that time. After this, the layers of the events of the 90s are revealed in front of him and it is shown what pain the Kashmiri Pandits went through during that time. The whole story revolves around this.
The Kashmir Files Movie Review
There are many such painful incidents recorded in the pages of history, which not only shamed both humanity and society, but also gave such a wound, whose traces are still found today. The exodus of minority Hindu Pandits from Kashmir, their plight is one such true tragedy.
The soil on which you were born. The courtyard in which your childhood was fed. The streets where you spent your youth. Had to leave that soil, that courtyard and those streets forever, living life like a refugee in our own country. As easy as it is to mention this pain, it is equally difficult to bear it.
The Kashmir Files is a film that wakes you up emotionally. It shows the Kashmir Valley of the 1990s. Shows the atrocities of terrorists on Kashmiri Pandits, how terrorists evicted Kashmiri-Hindus from their land. brutally murdered. Shameful atrocities were committed on their women and children. How the Kashmiri people, despite the forces like the government of the country, the local administration, the police and the media, remained as refugees in their own land and till date they did not get justice.
The film makes an argument that it was not just an escape, but was a savage massacre, which was suppressed for political reasons. These people have been in pain for almost 30 years, their homes and shops have now been occupied by the local people for so long. Kashmiri Pandits still expect justice and the most important thing is that they should get their respect, their recognition.
Vivek Agnihotri has portrayed the massacre of Hindus in Kashmir in 1990 in a shocking manner. Vinod Chopra also directed a film titled 'Shikara' in the year 2020. This film was also based on the massacre and exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus. The film tried to depict the suffering of Kashmiri people through a love story.
But Vivek Agnihotri has not hesitated anywhere in depicting the barbaric incidents in the film. Nor has any filter been put on it, so that its effect can be reduced.
The Kashmir Files Movie Actors Acting
All the actors including Darshan Kumar and Mithun Chakraborty have done their job well in the film. But Anupam Kher has done a great acting. Pallavi Joshi has been equally influential. The same Chinmay Mandlekar has also done justice to his role. In the case of casting the film, the director's selection fits according to his story. As if each actor was made for the same character.
As Pushkar Nath Pandit, Anupam portrays the pain of a person who, after being evicted from his land and home, passes through this world, dreaming of going there again for the rest of his life. Kashmir is the truth of India and there are many truths to this truth. For the past many years, everyone has been telling the truth of Kashmir in their own style. Kashmir Files also shows a truth and that too should be seen.
